“Andrea’s work reveals a cool, ethereal interest in a spiritual world that we travel to when life is extinguished.

Almost devoid of color, they are meditations on identity, loss and the beyond, another dimension entirely.

Her work has already left this mortal coil. Driftwood, chain and wire hold portraits of wraiths or emanations swirling in deep, rich tones redolent of Renaissance tapestry. Metallic highlights and open weave canvas barely hold the paint to the surface.

Fragility, tenderness and a light hand suggest an ephemeral experience both for artist and viewer.

Here but not here. So where exactly do these spirits reside? We are not sure.”
